A well-established client of ours operating in construction & finishing is searching for a Head of Projects to join their team. Reporting to the Head of Business Strategy and working closely with a number of Project Managers, the Head of Projects will be responsible for the overall performance of projects undertaken by the company, monitoring the quality, financial, H&S and schedule performance of each live project. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all current and upcoming projects are adequately resourced in both numbers and capabilities. 
  • Manage projects from award to final account closure.
  • Agres with stakeholders and the business on appropriate project management methodology based on the project requirements.
  • Develop action plans and drive commitment to relevant planning targets while chasing results.
  • Create and maintain project management plans while collaborating with relevant functions within the business to mobilise projects.
  • Ensure contracts are in place and manage risks, opportunities and contractual obligations.
  • Drive technical solutions and hold regular project status meetings with the relevant business directors or representatives.
  • Focuse on acceptance of work results by ensuring all work results are documented.
  • Monitor the progress with the appropriate KPIs and monitor trends to enable early prediction of project issues.
Requirements
  • Candidates must already reside in Malta, with the legal right of working in Malta
  • Attentive to detail, number-centric and highly diligent
  • Highly proficient in MS Office tools
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate project teams, foster collaboration, and drive results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges, develop solutions, and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis, with a focus on maximizing profitability and optimizing resource utilization
Education and Experience
  • Diploma Standard of Education as a minimum
  • At least 4 years prior experience in project management and a leadership role is a must
  • Prior experience in construction, finishings, engineering, manufacturing or hospitality is a must
