Industrial Plant Mechanic

We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Industrial Plant Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of industrial machinery through meticulous maintenance, repairs, and adherence to safety protocols. 

The Industrial Plant Mechanic will play a crucial role in upholding manufacturer standards, conducting thorough inspections, and effectively communicating with supervisors and team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all repairs are conducted in accordance with the manufacturer's procedures and safety guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on industrial machinery to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
• Actively participate in commissioning and start up of plant/equipment as well as plant shutdown and decommissioning.
• Adhere to manufacturer standard times for repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Report all components, materials, and consumables used accurately and promptly.
• Maintain proper documentation and records related to repairs, maintenance, and safety protocols.
• Prioritise safety in all tasks and procedures, emphasising safety during equipment operation.
• Comply with warranty procedures during repairs and ensure the return of displaced warranty materials upon completion.
• Assist in fault diagnosis and troubleshooting to identify and address potential issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to good housekeeping practices.
• Complete job cards accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed according to requirements.
• Ensure the proper completion of service sheets as per manufacturer and customer instructions.
• Implement and uphold the Company’s Quality (ISO 9001), Environment (ISO 14001), and Health & Safety Management Systems always.
• Train and supervise subordinates in company Management System procedures and policies.
• Communicate objectives, targets, and results effectively to all team members.
• Utilise specialised tools effectively and ensure optimal use and safe practices.
• Comply with company time recording procedures and ensure accurate tracking of work hours.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors, commensurate with the level of the post.
