FBM Limited in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Legal Counsel to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Role:
The Legal Counsel we're seeking will be a key figure in our Legal Department, offering expert guidance and assistance on a wide range of legal issues. We require someone with a strong background in intellectual property and fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese to fulfil this critical role.

What you will do:

  • Develop and implement strategies for the protection of intellectual property rights, including patent and trademark filing
  • Conduct IP due diligence, freedom-to-operate analyses, and risk assessment
  • Advise on IP aspects of commercial agreements, licensing deals, and partnerships
  • Manage IP disputes and litigation, including infringement actions, oppositions, and appeals
  • Stay abreast of changes in IP law and practices and advise the company on potential impacts
  • Collaborate with product development teams to identify and evaluate new IP opportunities
  • Provide training and guidance to company employees on IP matters.


What we expect from you:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Intellectual Property Lawyer
  • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, and English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Education: Law Degree or related field required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience with all manner of corporate documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, and other related matters
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
