Hammett’s Collection Malta is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our esteemed clientele.
As part of a renowned multi-award-winning restaurant franchise, renowned for pioneering multi-cuisine influences within a 'sharing plates concept,' the successful applicant will contribute to upholding our reputation for excellence in social dining experiences and unparalleled service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare a diverse range of pastry items including cakes, cookies, pies, and bread, adhering to both traditional and contemporary recipes.
• Collaborate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the development of innovative desserts and menus.
• Skillfully decorate pastries using various icings, toppings, and techniques to ensure visually stunning and enticing presentations.
• Uphold rigorous standards of food hygiene and adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring the safety and well-being of guests and staff alike.
• Monitor portion and waste control measures to maintain optimal profit margins.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry workstation to the highest standards.
Key Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a catering or pastry-related role
• Possession of relevant qualifications and certifications in food handling
• Effective communication skills and a personable demeanor
• Proficiency in the English language; fluency in an additional language is considered advantageous.
