Health, Safety and Environmental Manager

One of our client within the manufacturing industry is seeking to employ Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join their team. 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible to lead the team to investigate OHS and Environmental near misses, incidents, and accidents.
• Support the risk assessment process, including documentation and review.
• Ensure the site adheres to ISO security procedures, Health and Safety laws, Environmental regulations, and customer-specific compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, 22301).
• Oversee the maintenance and development of safety, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and audit systems that protect the health, safety, and well-being of employees, visitors, and contractors, while reducing environmental impact.
• Manage various risk assessment programs (e.g., machinery, manual handling, COSHH, fire safety).
• Provide advice to the Plant Manager on HSE compliance matters.
• Advise on and organize relevant H&S training to minimize risks and support employee development.
• Coordinate and chair HSE Committee meetings and contribute to departmental meetings and inspections.
• Collaborate with Head Office and external agencies to secure specialist HSE support.
• Ensure H&S standards are upheld through equipment reviews and audits.
• Lead HSE-related projects and process improvements.
• Drive initiatives to maintain ISO certifications and required permits.
• Identify and execute sustainability improvements across the site.
• Oversee HSE budgets and manage CAPEX projects.

• NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
• NEBOSH National Diploma in Environmental Management
• Experience in managing Health and Safety within a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
• Excellent communication skills in both Maltese and English

• Bachelor degree standard of education
