Malta Public Transport Services (Operations) Limited is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
Give technical support and advice to management and workshop personnel on fleet management-related matters to sustain a continuous improvement program and quality control
Identification of technical and operational solutions to existing problems in the workshop processes and on the fleet
Prepare technical reports to assist management in making the required informed decisions
Prepare improvement proposal reports based on technical analysis
Assist the technical department in planning and executing campaigns, reforms and other improvements as required to reach department targets
Work closely with the workshop manager to fine-tune the fleet inspection plan to reduce Breakdowns and increase mean time between failures (MTBF)
Receiving training from manufacturers, relay the information to subordinates and lead the training program for workshop personnel
Work closely with workshop supervisors to make prompt technical decisions
May be required to work on a shift basis ( four shifts: D-N-R-O)
To be involved in budgeting and forecast planning and follow the approved costings
Planning human and material resources as required to sustain the workshop operation
Ensure compliance with all policies related to security, data protection, health and safety, quality assurance and environmental protection
Give support when required to the various departments in the company about the content of his/ her duties
Any action related to the job mission that may be delegated by management.
Requirements:
Warranted Mechanical Engineering with 3 years working experience
Preferably having working experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery or heavy vehicles good organisation skills and adaptability
Good diagnostics, problem detection and problem-solving skills
Analysis of complex mechanical/electrical incidents and definition of the next steps for their resolution
