Melita Ltd in Malta is looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join their team on a full-time basis. We are looking for a highly motivated person able to work under their own initiative and with minimum supervision to fulfill the role of Accountant. The successful candidate will be working within the Finance reporting team and reporting to the Finance Manager.

Duties:
Preparing month-end journal entries relating to costs of sales and operating costs, maintaining accruals and prepayments schedules as well as Intercompany reconciliations
Assisting with the monthly revenue bill run upload onto the accounting system
Reconciliation of Infrastructure project costings
Explain variances to budget and to prior month/year
Ownership of the monthly group consolidation and shareholders’ reporting template
Ownership of quarterly bank reporting inclusive of performance commentary
Assisting in the interim and year-end audit procedures and preparation of annual financial statements
Liaising with the auditors as required
Assistance with the preparation of quarterly Vat returns and other statutory tax reporting requirements
Supporting the Finance Manager and Financial Controller on an ad hoc basis.
Job Requirements:
In possession of a University degree in Accounting or ACCA equivalent
Conversant with IFRS
Proficient in MS Office is a must, especially in MS Excel
Preference will be given to candidates who have exposure to using excel for business modeling
Have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
