Finance Controller

Our client is a prominent international residency consultancy agency located in Malta, specializing in providing expert advice and services for individuals seeking global residency solutions.  

As part of our expanding team, we are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to contribute to the efficient financial operations of our organization. 

Responsibilities:

• Enhance operational efficiency by managing financial processes and ensuring smooth coordination between finance and operations.
• Develop and implement best practices and centralised process systems in collaboration with the CFO and COO.
• Establish and maintain operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance and adherence to industry standards.
• Work closely with the CFO to oversee financial operations across multiple entities in the UK, US, and Malta, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS, and FRS102.
• Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Oversee month-end and year-end financial closing, including liaising with external auditors.
• Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and KPIs to guide business performance.
• Maintain oversight of taxation frameworks and treasury management, including foreign exchange monitoring.
• Stay updated with the latest financial technologies, including Xero and AI-driven tools to enhance efficiency.
• Experience in worldwide consolidation practices would be advantageous.
• Act as a link between finance and other teams, ensuring alignment with financial and operational objectives.
• Coordinate cross-functional projects to support the company’s strategic goals.
• Monitor and assess market risks, ensuring the company is well-prepared for both macro and microeconomic changes.
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Support internal audits and implement recommendations to strengthen financial controls.

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in finance and operations management.
• Proficiency in financial software, including Excel, ERP systems, and cloud-based accounting platforms.
• Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of delivering results.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Good level of verbal and written English
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with meticulous attention to detail.

• Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, or CA professional or a Bachelor's in Finance or Business Administration
